Desi Vega's Prime Burgers & Shakes

The food and service here were great! We all had burgers and while they were good, the fries stole the show for us (both the regular and sweet potato). I had gotten a loaded baked potato and it was kinda meh. It seemed odd to me that they had it wrapped in tinfoil and barely cut it open and stuffed it so half of the toppings were stuck on to the tinfoil vs in the potato. The burgers are very juicy, so don't plan on taking half home because your bun will be soggy. We also got shakes here and thought they were decent. Atmosphere was mostly okay but our booth seat had black duck tape covering up a hole and wasn't the most comfortable to sit on. Service was great and she checked on us the right amount of times.

We heard good things about this place, so we finally tried it. My wife and I got the "Death Sentence" burger with fries. I started with my fries, dripping them in their ranch. Oh my gawd! One of, if not the best ranch I have ever eaten! I ate all my fries with it before I touched my burger! And they have some big fries! I had to ask for another ranch. Let me tell you, that burger was amazing! I couldn't put it down! It was soo good! No wonder they have a burger eating challenge on the menu! If only I was younger.....OH their shakes and rootbeer floats are great too.

I must highlight the Crystal hot sauce onion rings, which initially sparked some skepticism. However, they turned out to be the most delightful onion rings I have ever tasted, requiring no additional sauce for enhancement. As an extra treat, I decided to sample their creole garlic aioli, which proved to be a perfect complement to the dish. In addition to the remarkable onion rings, I indulged in the Desi fries, topped with cheddar, bacon, and ranch. These fries were clearly handmade, possessing a distinct freshness, and the ranch dressing was accompanied by real bacon bits, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. While my overall experience was highly enjoyable, I must note a minor flaw. Upon being seated, the table had not been properly cleared, with remnants of water and debris still present. However, upon bringing this to the attention of our waitress, Sadie, she promptly rectified the situation, exhibiting exemplary customer service. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that this establishment welcomes families and ensures a family-friendly atmosphere. Considering the superb dining experience I had, I would undoubtedly return for another visit

Higher priced but good overall Came in on 9-16 decided on the challenge, OMG it's a lot of eats, fries piping hot, The onion rings are killer. Super service even though it was packed. I've visited three times, always friendly staff, food comes quickly. if walk out hungry, you didn't order.

Decided to go in for a burger and fries and I was definitely please. Chose the build your own option. Decided on tye onion bun (I love onions of course), Romain lettuce, no cheese (no dairy for me) mayo and mustard on the side, veggie burger, fire roasted onions and bell peppers, red onions, hickory BBQ sauce and sweet potato fries no salt. Drink was sweet and unsweetened tea mixed. The veggie burger appeared to be made in house. Very favorable and definitely cooked fresh. The fire roasted onions and bell peppers added a pleasant touch with its light hint of spice. The onion bread wasn't what I expected but it was still pretty good. It reminded me of the landers onion bagels, would have wanted a little bit softer and less gritty texture but the BBQ sauce helped with that. The fries were definitely cooked hot and fresh. I ate them first because it is very cold in the read I didn't want them to get cold ( cant do cold fries). Highly recommend bringing a jacket, its cold. The staff was extremely pleasant and polite. I came in around 3 and there were only 6 people seated including myself. Around 4:30p the crowd rolled in but maybe because the Saints won against the Dirty Birds 20:17 (had to through that in). My suggestion would be to give more than one napkin upfront since most of the food is eat with your hands. Other than that, awesome place to get a filling burger and fries. I will definitely be back, simply because I want to try the jalapeno bread and house fries. The shakes look good to but again, I'm not a dairy girl. Go check them out.

This is a great local place with solid, consistent food. The burger selection is great, and they are always juicy and delicious. I recommend the crystal hot sauce onion rings. In addition, the hot dogs are huge and delicious too, with a wide variety of toppings! Last but not least, Desi Vega has EXCELLENT milkshakes! Many flavors, including “adult shakes” that are all hand-spun and delicious. All around a great family spot, absolutely worth coming to River Ridge for.

Went there expecting a premium burger. Ordered the no frills classic after viewing the extended list of add ons. Ordered the onion rings as a side. The onion rings were small rings fried in a coating with just a hint of pepper sauce. Perfect. The burger came soon enough. Well it was a neatly placed burger on a tray with some fries. The fries were fresh cut as by taste. The burger came dressed and needed nothing else to improve taste bud action. After reading this message, you should know I not compensated to approve the purchase of this burger.

Got seated quickly. Food came out hot. Server could have spaced out delivery of food, but happy it was well prepared and good. We loved our shakes. Chicken wings were crispy. The way we like them. My Cesar salad was perfect.
